Required Course Descriptions

Green Financing:

The course deals with Fair Housing rules and regulations and contracts issues. This is a required course in Virginia and satisfies 1 hour of agency, 1 hour of legal update, and 1 hour Contracts and 3 hours of elective credit for DC and MD. 

NEW FLOOD COURSE:

This course is the new flood insurance course required by VA and counts as one hour of legal update.

Ethics of Being Green 3 hours:

The course is an in-depth look at ethics from a philosophical perspective as well as regulatory and legal. Through an analysis of classic ethics philosophers, the VA code of ethics, and NAR code of ethics the student gets a unique perspective of how these all these fit together to form an ethical worldview. This is a required course in Virginia and satisfies additional 3 hours Ethics requirement VA andf 3 hours of elective credit for DC and MD

Fair Housing 2 hours

The course deals with Fair Housing rules and regulations and contracts issues. This is a required course in Virginia and satisfies 2 hours Fair Housing VA 

Broker Management 8 hours

The course is an in-depth look at management of licensees from the perspective of the broker. It includes all regulatory information brokers need to manage licensees as well as training practices and techniques to become a more effective manager. This is a required course in Virginia for a brokers and satisfies the 8 hours of management requirement.

DC Legislative Update and Landlord Tenant Rights

This course is an update of all current legal and regulatory issues affecting DC licensees. It also deals specifically with tenant rights issues and violations. This is a required course in DC and satisfies the 3 hours requirement for legislative update and landlord tenant rights and 3 hours of VA elective credit. 

DC Fair Housing and Predatory Lending Update

The course deals with Fair Housing rules and regulations and predatory lending issues. The course examines fair housing guidelines and cases both local and national. This is a required course in DC and satisfies 3 hours of Fair Housing and predatory lending requirement and 3 hours of VA elective credit.

DC Financial Issues

The course deals with financial regulations and history of financial systems that have ended us up where we are today. The course examines cases both local and national that have affected our financial institutions both in a positive and negative way. This is a required course in DC and satisfies 3 hours of the Financial Issues requirement and 3 hours of VA elective credit.

Maryland Ethics

The course is an in-depth look at ethics from a philosophical perspective as well as regulatory and legal. Through an analysis of classic ethics philosophers, the MD code of ethics, the student gets a unique perspective of how these all these fit together to form an ethical worldview. This is a required course in Maryland and satisfies the 3 hours of topic (d) Ethics requirement.

Maryland Legal Update

This course provides the licensee with an up to date analysis of the current legal issues facing Maryland licensees. This is a required course in Maryland and satisfies the 3 hours of topic (a) required. 

Maryland Commercial Agency

This course is the Maryland real estae commission approved mandatory agency course for commercial licensees

The Ethics of Being Green
